A Wee Bit of Spike Updating


Just little bit of sprucing up! I (think I) fixed a few minor sound issues, as well as some interface stuff. Gameplay-wise, I noticed that my super advanced AI for Spike in Battle Mode could be defeated by a human player holding down the right movement key the entire match and running through over and over again. This was, um, not ideal. Now Spike has upped his game a bit! You can still try that trick if that's your thing, but gameplay should be much more balanced now, and it's likely AI Spike will defeat you if you pull such shenanigans.
Of course the AI is still a work in progress, so who knows what other exploits will be revealed?
On a related topic, AI Spike and AI Guy can in fact play each other -- part of my testing had them matched up in VS to see who was the more consistent winner at any given stage in their programming. Last I checked they were a pretty close match for each other, making it hard to guess who would win a given match. I really want to make this a weird 'spectator mode', maybe with some sort of reward if you guess correctly. We shall see!
