STORY
Trapped in a prison hell, a desperate orange will play a deadly game in the hopes of getting shipped to safer markets.
WARNING
This is a game about oranges in trouble. It is scary and it is juicy and it is intense.
WARNING 2
This game requires a semi-modern graphics card. If you can run Buckshot Roulette or That's Not My Neighbor, this should work as well!
BACKSTORY:
I am the creator of the original Orange Roulette, which was released over 12 years ago as a Flash game! This is a major update with 3D graphics, made with the awesome Godot Engine.
For those interested in the original game, it still lives on Newgrounds:

ABOUT THE BANANA GUN
The Banana Gun has six chambers. A single seed pod forms in a single chamber as the Banana Gun ripens. When it has reached full development, under a bright sun, the Banana Gun begins to 'trigger' itself, cycling its cylinder counterclockwise until it reaches the random chamber the explosive seed pod is in. When that happens, seeds and banana fruit expel at a very high velocity, and can be deadly if you are in range. You can also pull the 'trigger' yourself with the same effect. If you intend to use the Banana Gun in this fashion, it's recommended to peel back the end of the 'muzzle' slightly, to prevent a backfire.
It is for these reasons that the Apples pick Banana Guns just before ripeness, to be used in their evil game.
Banana Guns grow on trees.
PROGRESS:
Orange Roulette currently includes the difficult 'Iron Orange' mode, as well as (when unlocked) 'Easy Orange' mode, standalone 'Grim Mode', and 'Orange Royale' mode. I plan to add additional shtuff, including 'Iron Orange Plus', one more character, new endings, and maybe, finally, some closure for those poor oranges.
FINAL NOTE:
Thank you to all that have shown interest from times of old to the present!
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Windows 64-bit, Post 2016 GPU that supports Vulkan.
Purchase

Hey, when playing Orange Royale mode, I got confused on how the horseshoe works. when I use a company dollar i just press the horshoe, simply cuz i assume it's good for something. Is it increased luck in shooting my opponent or increased shooting myself with a blank????
If you don't wanna say, by all means that's fine, it's that I'm curious how it works.
I do like it as a 'figure it out' item, but I will provide some insight.
*SPOILERS*
The horseshoe reveals where the seed pod (bullet) is in the chamber of the banana gun (in Royale Mode). The banana gun chamber moves counter clockwise, so use that as a guide to what the Horseshoe is showing. Horseshoe pointing straight up (when tips are glowing) is 'this shot is fatal'.
The thing is, your opponent can see the horseshoe as well, so you both know where it's at in the rotation. The computer players know when they're in a losing situation, and will spin if they have a spin left. They'll also take advantage of the bullet being ready on their turn. (One character doesn't care as much about such things, and may screw up)
So - you can rob an opponent of their spin; you can find out the next shot is your winning shot and use it; or if you use it AFTER an opponent spins, if it's not in the final part of the rotation, you can set up the turns so your opponent is doomed.
Disadvantage is you get shot because of bad counting, or you have to use your spin (if you have it) to save yourself.
It's not as straightforward as 'Shoot Other With No Penalty', but there's a useful strategy that can guarantee a win under the right circumstances.
Since this game is made in Godot (Assuming Godot 4). Does this mean there will be future plans for online multiplayer since Godot 4 has a node for Peer 2 Peer connection? It's perfectly fine if you say no, was just wondering.
It's on the list! While I'm focusing mostly on wrapping up the story loop, I've set up the 'Orange Royale' mode to the point where local multiplayer can be soon implemented, which then sets the stage for pulling off the more technically challenging online multiplayer! It's something I've never done before, but I'm definitely aware of Godot's (and Steam's) tools to assist. When I start making headway I'll definitely be posting about it.
awsome!
Hey, QuantumJoker asked this question already, but I really enjoyed playing the classic Flash version of Orange Roulette and would love to play the remake; do you have any plans of releasing a macOS version of the updated 3D version of your game? (specifically for Apple silicon computers)
Thank you for making the original—and for this great-looking remake!
Thanks for the kind words! I'll be looking into a Mac port soon -- it can be a tricky port, but obviously not impossible. I'll update about it when I make some headway.
That's great to hear, best of luck with this remake and I look forward to one day playing it! Thanks for your reply.
Hello! I really enjoyed playing Orange Roulette on Newgrounds and Android (and I was a little disappointed that it never came to iOS). Will you possibly make a Mac version of Orange Roulette?
Make It So When Someone Gets Shot, It's Gory (For Orange Standards, At Least) Instead Of Just A Juice Spray.
Latest update has enhanced the impact of the juicy gore a bit! I'm still tweaking it, but I'm sure the update is very noticeable!
I liked the game, but theres some things that need to be patched i dont now, i have been playing this game since the original one the flash game one, alse the android one but i think the game needs more of that scense that used to had like more reactions on the orange faces when you shoot or when you shoot and it is not charge, a skip on the beggining from the story because i have seen all of them and i only want to pass to the game, or maybe an option that makes the game with less graphics to improve the speed, but i loved it
Thanks for the input, I am definitely still adding, refining and optimizing things!
This game looks good, I have some suggestions, for example you can add the oranges head bursting out when shot in the head. You can also add the crying orange and the other oranges that were removed in the game I guess. VERY good game.
I'll likely add a little more juiciness to the lose state! 'Mr. Sad' will be added soon, making the game one character more difficult. Right now I'm getting the
'Orange Royale' mode ready!
Goodluck on developing that, because it could be hard sometimes but I'll know you'll succeed! Hey, by any chance, if you'd like to have Orange Roulette's songs on Spotify, I can help you to publish it! (I don't know if you own the songs). Also, do you have a Discord Server?
post it on steam having able buy it with 2,00 eur so i can afford it
the fact its not free for a old game being remastered that was a free game imediatly bad in my opinion
Bro, it is literally $2, so I don't understand what's the problem. It will most likely cost more when the game comes to Steam though, but by then, the game will have more content. So I don't see a problem with that either, especially since this game is legitimately remade with a completely new look and final boss fight.
There are many layers of secret lore with Orange Roulette, but I adhere to the George Miller 'loose lore' strategy. Current canon is oranges being held captive for a sinister game by the evil apple overlords. The orange main character seems trapped in a recurring nightmare or losing his sanity as his opponents become more surreal, the scenario changes, and so on. Can he truly escape? Will the game developer finally add a slightly more happy ending? Only time will tell!
What happens if the game reaches it's goal?
I'm preparing an update as we speak, which includes adding a new/old character, and working on new modes! I will also start preparing for a Steam release -- getting views and players has greatly helped my motivation! I'll keep you all in the loop regarding Steam acceptance and Steam keys.
Is there a possibility for this to be released on steam?
Yes! I'll post about my near future plans soon, as well as the sitch with distributing keys and all like that there!
i will be buying
This is one of those games that was a bit impactful to me growing up, especially when you get a feel for these oranges *ahem*.
I'd be inspired to help write and make a game as a homage to Orange Roulette, Buckshot Roulette, and the crazy ass Suda51 games. At some point, I oughta put some references to help support you and bring in more attention to Orange Roulette among other games you've made!:D
This is a good game! Sad it doesn't get the love it deserves
gawd damn
you had 14 years dude...
